Sports funding 2015 – 2016

£9,100

  •          The school has achieved the Bronze School Games mark.
  •          Continue training and development of our specialist staff and all teachers.
  •           Continue membership with the Stoke oPEn local network for PE.
  •          Increase participation in a range of interschool competitions. (new this year: swimming and netball)
  •          Continue to increase stock of quality sports equipment.

·         Continue training and development of our specialist staff and all teachers.

·         Increase participation in a range of interschool competitions. (new this year: benchball, athletics, swimming and netball)

 

·         Continue to increase stock of quality sports equipment. 

 

Sports funding 2013 – 2014

·         Training and development of Moorpark’s own specialist PE teaching staff.

·         Extra-curricular sports clubs and events.

·         Lunchtime sports coaches.

·         Local sports network membership for ongoing training, support and organisation of interschool competitions.

Success 2013 -2014

·         Increased numbers attending after school sports clubs.

·         Increased sporting competition events in school and with other schools.

·         Sports themed activity days.

·         Interschool winners for y5/6 mixed and girl’s football 2014. (The Crescent Academy Football tournament)

·         Our own specialist PE teachers who know the children at Moorpark and understand their needs.

·         New sports equipment to deliver quality PE. (balls, cricket, hockey, gymnastics, athletics.)

·         Increased time tabled PE to 2 hours per week.

·         New scheme of work, lesson planning and assessment of PE to match no limits learning in other lessons. Lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of all children. The children know what to do to improve and how to self-assess their own skills. Alongside teacher assessment the children make rapid progress in this subject.

We are delighted with the success over the first year of Sports funding. We aim to continue to use the extra funding to continue the development of all staff to teach quality PE.
