I have been in post as the Headteacher at Moorpark Junior School since April, 2012. I entered the teaching profession in 2001.   I have extensive experience of leading quality teaching and learning, curriculum and staff development within numerous schools, different local authorities and external education partners. I commit to and continue to drive high standards of governance for the school and ensure that the governing body are fully informed and regularly up to date in all aspects of the school's performance.

Chair of  Governors – Mrs Sheela Dutton

I was elected as the Chair of Governors in November 2016.  Prior to this I have been a parent governor at Moorpark since 2013.  I have been in Local government for 17 years and I have vast legal knowledge.  I have worked in ceramic research and forensic laboratories before qualifying as a solicitor and then working firstly as a criminal defence lawyer.  I was a trade union representative (UNISON) for 5 years.  After taking voluntary redundancy and early retirement I now work for Stoke-on-Trent City Council as clerk to the Governors.

                                                                      Staff Governor– Mrs Andrea Findler (education, social care)

 

I have been a governor at Moorpark since 2005.  I started as a parent governor and I am currently a staff governor.  I have several years’ experience working at the school in different roles.  I started as an Administration Assistant and I am now the Home School link Worker for the school.  I am passionate about developing lifelong opportunities for children.  I have used my professional skills as a staff governor to help ensure effective management of the school.  As a staff governor I will offer commitment, enthusiasm and determination to make a difference striving for academic excellence.

I have been a governor at Moorpark since December, 2008.  I have experience in; Management (Overseas and UK), FE Lecturer (Overseas and UK), Secondary Teacher (Overseas) and Agriculture / Horticulture / ITC.

I have been a governor at Moorpark since 2013. I was elected as Vice Chair in November, 2016.I bring the following skills to my role: finance, education, governance and marketing. I have substantial experience, gained since 1991, of providing financial and strategic planning support to school leaders and governors nationally – initially, for two large local authorities then, from 2003 to present day, working for my own company –ReformEd Limited.

Cllr Joy Garner (HR, politics, business)

I have been a School Governor in the City of Stoke-on-Trent, in different schools for around 20 years. I have been a Governor at Moorpark Juniors for about 10 years. I have been Chair of Governors since 2012 until November 2016. I worked for nearly 30 years for a national supermarket, where I was also a trade union representative for USDAW, before being elected to Stoke-on-Trent City council in 2002, representing Burslem North/Park since 2006, where I have been a previous chair of Education Scrutiny. I am Chair of the Licensing and General Purposes Committee at the council.

I have been a governor at Moorpark since 2012.   I have 25 years’ experience in the education sector.  I was a lecturer in ICT, stoke on Trent College and project manager for Education and ICT related projects across Staffordshire colleges and Director of the Haywood City Learning Centre in Burslem, working across the education sector in Stoke to trial the use of ICT and its impact on teaching and learning.  I am currently a Freelance consultant, providing training in Functional Skills.
