Academy Conversion

Dear Parents and Carers,

ACADEMY CONVERSION / MULTI ACADEMY TRUST

Moorpark Junior School is currently a Local Authority Maintained school. You are fully aware that we have been considering academisation for our school and the governors are pleased to inform you that the academy orders have been granted by the DFE and this is a great achievement we are proud of together.

After a process supported by the Local Authority in which several existing Multi Academy Trusts were considered we have decided to work with other like-minded schools and create our own MAT.   Our school will join Jackfield Infant School, Alexandra Infants and Alexandra Juniors Schools to create The New Guild Multi Academy Trust.

Part of the Academy conversion process is for us to consult with you as parents and carers. We want to hear your suggestions and opinions. Please visit the school’s website at www.moorpark.sch.co.uk  where you’ll find an Academy Conversion Consultation paper and a Frequently Asked Questions document. For your information we have also attached a leaflet explaining the benefits and risks of becoming an academy. Please can I ask you to read these and, if you want to comment, please write to the school marked Academy Consultation or e-mail moorpark@moorparkjunior.co.uk as soon as possible, consultation closes at 12.00 noon on 20th December, 2017. If you’d like a hard copy of these two documents please call in at the school office and copies will be printed for you.

Further to this, we are also inviting all families from Jackfield and Moorpark to attend our next parent and carer forum to help us shape the vision of our academy trust with your suggestions and questions about the future potential of our work together. The date is Friday, 8th December, 2017, 9.30am at Moorpark Junior School.

In order to continue to ensure that Moorpark Junior School continues with its current ethos and is able to remain as a community driven school for all of our children both now and in the future, I firmly believe that conversion to Academy status as part of a Multi Academy Trust represents the best course of action for our school.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs K.Peters
